Description
A massive example, the grip carved of a single large section of horn with large engraved and nielloed mounts. The broad, bifullered blade with tapering point, and struck with a gold maker’s mark at the forte. The leather-covered wooden scabbard with engraved and nielloed mounts and iron chape finely inlaid in gold. Early 19th century. Overall length 51 cm. Minor wear. Condition III
