Edo era, the blade with distinct broad temperline, turning back into the spine, with copper cat scratch design habaki. In its wooden saya carved and lacquered to appear as a closed fan, with delicately incised lines delineating each rib. Beginning of the 19th century. Overall length 30.9 cm. Minor wear, lacquer chipped. Condition III
