Description
With rare pommel form, likely Tausug. The exotic hardwood grip with the arched banati pommel with chamfered edges and hooked, stepped terminal, with engraved silver band. With intricate cord-wrapped grip and ferrule retain the brass baka-baka. The broad, waved blade with separately-applied ganja, with evidence of pattern-welded forging. In its hardwood scabbard secured by plaited rattan bands. Latter 19th century. Overall length 77.4 cm. Condition I
