Typical of the supports affected by mendicants who were often seated for long periods, likewise useful as a mace and musket-rest. Forged entirely of steel with inlaid silver embellishments, the grip terminating in a lion’s head, the haft contains a long, quadrangular thrusting blade. Latter19th century. Patinated overall. Overall length 59.6cm. Condition II
