Description
Finely wrought of delicately-patterned Persian wootz steel, with rolled rim and domed center, the border heavily inlaid in gold involving intertwining vinework with cartouches containing lengthy Qur’anic verses. With four domed bosses with scalloped edges, likewise inlaid overall in gold, the reverse retains its padded cushion. Finely detailed and executed overall. Late 17th-early 18th century. Worn. Diameter 28cm. Condition III
