Description
The Persiform hilt wrought of gilded copper and engraved overall in fine flowering vinework. The robust, moderately-curved, single-edged blade wrought of very finely-patterned wootz damascus steel with silver inlay panel to each side. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard, with numerous elaborate gilded, engraved and embossed mounts en suite with the hilt. Mid-18th century. Worn, period repair to blade. Overall length 89.1cm. Condition III
