Description
Of classic form, the brass mounts comprising an oval pommel cap and symmetrical guard, the long quillons with expanded terminals and corded wooden grip covered in black leather. The massive, well-forged, single-edged blade bifullered with pronounced back-edge, and elaborately etched with characteristic marks including stars, a sun in splendor and an arm holding a saber issuing from a cloud. First half of the 17th century. Minor wear overall. Overall length 88.1cm. Condition III
