Description
The elaborately-worked junggayan hilt typically carried by a datu or noble, with elephant kakatua-form pommel and silver mounts embellished with okir engraving and filigree interspersed with woven cord. A silver baca-baca retain the substantial blade forged with a separate ganja and showing evidence of a mechanical damascus steel pattern. In its wooden scabbard with silver mounts. Late 19th century. Overall length 73cm. Condition III
