Description
A fine Mughal example, the body of green stone with touches of cream, superbly carved in an imbricated feather motif with broad acanthus borders, interspersed with bands of rectangular red cabochons in gilded settings, the terminal a fully-modeled parrot’s head with inlaid red stone eyes. The cap carved as a lotus and likewise set with a red stone. 17th century or later. Overall height 18.8cm. Condition III
