Description
Well-wrought of steel in the form of a gentlemanÂ’s high-crowned hat, the robust components with scalloped and profiled edges attached with numerous rivets, the brim rolled. Mid-16th century. Well worn overall, period repairs. Height 21.5cm. By the 16th century, armor had become increasingly influenced by sartorial fashions adopted by the aristocracy.
