The oval guard with scalloped borders and integral knucklebow terminating in a lotus bud, the blade of recurved, double-edged form, wrought with deep fullers and a prominent central ridge, with armor-piercing tip. In its later velvet-covered wooden scabbard. Mid-17th century. Areas of pitting. Overall length 31.8 cm. Condition III
