A large example wrought entirely of steel, the hilt lavishly in gold with flowering vinework, the broad blade wrought of actively-grained wootz; paneled, with pronounced central ridge developing into an armor-piercing tip. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with profiled and engraved tip. Early 19th century. Some wear. Overall length 44cm. Condition II
