Description
A robust example of classic form, the grips carved of elephant with characteristic broadly flared and cusped pommel. The oval guard with scalloped borders and integral knucklebow terminating in a lotus bud, the blade of recurved, double-edged form, wrought with a pronounced central ridge terminating in an armor-piercing tip. In its tooled leather-covered scabbard with profiled and pierced brass chape. 17th-18th c. Overall length 35.6cm. Condition III
