Description
Of characteristic hemispherical form with top spike, adjustable nasal bar, and plume tubes, embellished with flowering vinework interspersed with the Shir ve Khorshid, the famous emblem of Iran, in which the sun rises over the lion bearing a shamshir, all highlighted in gold, the broad borders containing Arabic inscriptions heightened with silver inlay. Retains its camail of iron rings pointed termini. Mid-19th c. Minor rust, losses to camail. Height including camail 56.9cm.
