Edo era, the five-plate russet bowl embossed with brows and wisdom lines, the steel shikoro of five plates with rectangular fukurin, lacquered a medium brown and bound with orange lacing, The brass maedate a pair of imposing horns retaining traces of gilding. Original lining torn but intact. With its en suite menpo of lacquered steel with laced three-lame guard intact. First half of the 19th c. Light wear, repair to maedate bracket, minor losses to lacquer. Overall height including maedate 73cm. Condition II
