Description
Likely German work, the lightly-peaked cuffs with deeply embossed and studded panels with rolled and roped borders retaining their hide lining. With multiple lames articulated and embossed for the ulna, the knuckle-plates deeply embossed and roped, with polygonal divisions for the fingers. Each finger composed of ridged lamellae with stylized embossed fingernails and original lining, the thumbs with fine, profiled hinges. Mid-16th century. Light wear. Ex-Cher Collection. Overall height 29.7cm. Condition III
