Description
A large example, with hardwood grip of characteristic form carved in basket weave motif overall, the pommel with a large faceted cairngorm quartz set in an engraved silver bezel. The broad, single-edged blade with false edge and profiled spine, marked LECKIE, GRAHAM & CO MAKERS GLASGOW. The leather-covered wooden scabbard mounted en suite with the hilt, with well-engraved silver mounts, its knife and fork set with quartzes en suite with the hilt, each with a spring-catch. Mid-19th century. Overall length 46.7cm. Condition I
