Description
The elephant grips with characteristic rolled pommel, the robust heavily gilded guard with pointed quillon terminals and knuckle chain intact. Scabbard mounts likewise heavily gilt, with locket, chape and suspension band on the leather scabbard all elaborately embellished en suite. The long, graceful, handforged, blade with central fuller. Second quarter of the 19th century. Light wear. Overall length 96cm. Condition II
