Description
Of classic form, the grips of translucent brown horn with characteristic rolled pommel. The mounts of brass, the exceptionally long, robust blade with characteristic raised back edge and T- shaped spine with deep central fuller. Etched panels at either forte Qur’anic passages added in its working life. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard mounted en suite with the hilt. Mid-18th century. Worn, guard loose, scabbard rubbed, with repaired crack to tip. Overall length 93.6cm. Condition IIV
