Very rarely encountered, of characteristic form, made from oryx hide and tooled with intricate talismanic lineal motifs. With characteristic rolled edge and separately-applied grip. From the Hoggar Mountain region of the Sahara highlands, in Southern Algeria. 19th century. Minor wear to the lower extremities. Overall Length 126cm. Condition III
