Description
A superior example of Hijazi type, mounted entirely in silver, the obverse with filigreed and gilded overlay throughout. The blade broad, lightly curved, double-edged and bifullered. Wrought of fine, dramatic pattern-welded steel in a distinct ladder pattern and inlaid at the forte on either side in silver with lines from the Qur’an. Latter 19th c. Overall length 59.5cm. Condition II
