Description
With dark horn grips and characteristic Ottoman brass mounts. The blade forged of Persian wootz steel visible at the forte and boldly chiseled with a pair of cartouches at the right forte, O JUDGE OF NEEDS!, the lower containing a pictogram of a lion, with bordered back fullers and areas of original finish. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts. First half of the 19th century. Light wear, blade with sharpening marks. Overall length 97.6 cm. Condition III
