Description
Highly valued by the Dayak Peoples. Of characteristic form, with molded muzzle and breach, prominent cascabel, trunnions and dolphin loops. Retaining its original two-wheeled bronze carriage. Well-patinated. 18th-19th century. Such cannon were popular throughout Borneo and the Moro lands, where they were used in battle, on shipboard, on the rails of longhouses and other dwellings, and as part of the dowry. Overall length 30.5cm. Bore appears occluded. Condition III
