Description
One of very few English-made helmets in the continental style, the two-piece skull with rolled comb, with separately-applied peak and captured, adjustable nasal retained by a large set-screw, large earguards and a solid neckguard embossed with four “lames, ” all with rolled borders. Retains its black painted finish overall. Mid- 17th century. One earguard leather fixed to the skull with glue. Overall height 37cm. Condition II
