Description
Highly valued by the Dayak Peoples. Of characteristic form, with molded muzzle and breach. On its rare original four-wheeled bronze carriage. Well-patinated. 18th-19th century. Such cannon were popular throughout Borneo and the Moro lands, where they were used in battle, on shipboard, on the rails of longhouses to repel pirates, and as part of the dowry. Overall length 24.1cm. Condition II
