Description
The distinctive hilt forged with three drooping quillons and an angular knucklebow, each with bead finial, the massive wooden grip with scrolled pommel and engraved silver ferrule. The very lightly-curved European blade forged with three narrow fullers and long backedge and etched motifs including a crescent moon. In its leather-covered wooden scabbard with brass mounts. First half of the 19th century. Well worn. Overall length 94.2cm. Condition III
