Description
Designed to fire stones and pellets, the wooden stock of characteristic bellied form with spherical butt. Covered in finely-fitted antler panels profusely engraved with complex running vine motifs, with steel mounts. The finely-wrought, removable bow engraved with banners containing Latin inscriptions. Retains its double sights. Late 16th century. Worn, trigger lacking, minor losses to panels, the bow pitted. Overall length 79.6cm. Condition III
