Description
Of characteristic form, the rare, fibrous horn grips with rolled pommel, with engraved silver tangband and embellished guard. The well-wrought, curved, single-edged heirloom blade finely engraved with Islamic inscriptions for its entire length on either side, including THERE IS NO HERO LIKE ‘ALI AND NO SWORD LIKE ZULFAQAR! In its wooden scabbard covered entirely with engraved and pierced silver mounts. Latter 18th century. Minor wear, guard is a period replacement and does not mate perfectly with locket. Overall length 89.2cm. Condition III
