Description
Mughal work of classic form, the fine green jade grip with rolled pommel and lineal decoration, set with turquoises and silver-gilt studs. The double-edged, recurved blade terminating in an armor-piercing tip, wrought of fine wootz with gold floral inlay to the forte on either side. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with binding intact. Mid-19th century. Losses to turquoises, velvet well worn. Overall length 36cm. Condition II
