Description
Of Afedali type, with broadly-flared butt, the hardwood stock lavishly and elegantly inlaid with silver floral motifs, Arabic inscriptions and the date 1276 (1859/60 c.e.) Mounted with a fine engraved snaphaunce lock with sliding pan cover. The barrel with elaborate chiseling to breech and muzzle, secured to the stock by silvered bands. Ramrod lacking. First half of the 19th century. Light wear and losses to silverwork. Overall length 74.6cm. Condition III
