Made for the American market, with stag grips and brass guard, blade with characteristic clipped tip and choil by famed English maker George Wostenholm and so marked: G. WOSTENHOLM & SON / WASHINGTON WORKS / SHEFFIELD at the spine and at the forte, I * XL. Third quarter of the 19th century. Minor wear. Wostenholm knives were struck with this name and address from 1848-1876. Overall length 26cm. Condition III
