A rare example, the carved hilt with scrolled, flared pommel and silver band, with brass ferrule set at an obtuse angle to the massive blade. Well-forged overall with a rectangular-section forte and blade expanding continuously toward the cusped tip. Mid-19th century. Overall length 64cm. Condition III
