Description
Likely Neapolitan, the hilt well-wrought of steel, with faceting and profiling overall, the guard with rolled quillons and a substantial ring guard. The long, straight blade well-chiseled at the forte with busts of Julius Caesar and the Holy Roman Emperor framed in stands of arms, and hexagonal section with an acute tip. Late 16th -early 17th century. Well worn, areas of corrosion. Overall length 54.8cm. Condition IV
