Description
German work, the polished hardwood stock of characteristic form with scrolled butt, trigger and set trigger, and inlaid with numerous incised bone panels depicting birds, beasts and geometrical motifs, together with the monogram JCW and a portrait of the owner, and dated 1676 at the base of the mechanism. Retaining its original handwrought steel bow, cord and tassels. Dated 1676. Light wear, minor losses. Overall length 57.5cm. Condition III
