Description
Sea Dayak work, with well-carved grip bound with braided copper wire to base, the handwrought blade with symmetrical edge, expanding continuously to the radiused tip. In its hardwood scabbard with rattan bindings, inscribed with Chinese characters, including the word, SOUTHERN and what appears to be a Dayak name (?) Late 19th century. Overall length 73.8cm.
