Characteristic of Tanjore work, the distinctive guard forged with high central ridge, with monster’s head finial, the rails with profiled and beaded terminals. The reinforces retaining the broad, well-wrought, multifullered blade with thickened armor-piercing tip. Beginning of the 17th century. Worn overall. Overall length 54cm. Condition III
