A massive example with grips of actively-patterned jasper. The broad, recurved blade with traces of gold inlay, the T-back profiled, the edge raised and chamfered, with central ridge developing into an armor-piercing tip. Forged of fine, highly-contrasted Persian black wootz. Mid-18th century. Worn, stable crack to one grip filled in period. Overall length 41.4cm. Condition III
