Description
An earlier and finer than average example, the antler grip intricately carved with aso motifs and finely-woven rattan gripwrap. The hardwood scabbard likewise intricately carved. The blade unusually robust and chisel-edged, brass inlays and profiled spine. Retains its belt with coin closure. 19th-20th century. Minor wear and losses, blade with pitting. Overall length 74.7cm. Condition III
