Description
The steel guard engraved and pierced in geometrical motifs, with scalloped borders, developing into a robust knucklebow, the guard with expanded and rolled terminals, the elongated pommel fluted. Wooden grip. The long, straight, heirloom double-edged blade with a pair of short, deep fullers to either side of the block forte, and longer central fullers marked, HEINRICH X BRABENDER X SALIGEN, and transitioning to a flattened diamond cross section. Latter 17th century. Worn overall. The pommel a Colonial replacement. Found in San Antonio, Texas. Overall length 102cm. Condition IV
