Description
A fine example of Epirus workmanship, the entire stock of silver, chiseled, engraved and nielloed in intricate baroque motifs involving garlands and floral sprays, with the Byzantine double-headed eagle crest at the breach and a monster head at the underside of the forearm. The lock with stepped plate and elegantly-formed cock with engraved borders. The imported barrel lightly engraved at the breech. Late 18th-early 19th century. Overall length 41.4cm. Condition II
