Description
The half stock lacquered black, with engraved white metal furniture. The butt covered with pseudo-Chinese gold lacquer decoration involving fish, dragons and tigers amongst vinework. With back action percussion lock, the lockplate with engraved decoration, the wrist chequered and set with a cap box with sprung lid. The large bore barrel struck with a Belgian mark near the breach. With iron ramrod. Mid-19th century. Well worn overall, wood scratched and gouged, barrel pitted. Likely presented to a regional Chinese ruler or warlord. Overall length 133cm. Condition III
