A rare type, the elephant grips of characteristic large-eared form, with elaborately filigreed silver tangband, the straight, single-edged blade with T-back, wrought of actively-grained wootz. The wooden scabbard completely covered with embossed and engraved silver in intricate Ottoman baroque motifs, with robust locket. First half of the 19th century. Overall length 52cm. Condition II
