Description
Rarely encountered, an Edo-era samurai mail armor, comprising a helmet and coat. The coat with high collar and full sleeves terminating in gauntlets, padded and lined with cotton, and the helmet, likewise composed of mail and completely padded and lined in cotton, providing excellent, portable and concealable protection for a swordsman. Latter 17th century. Minor areas of rusting and wear to the lining. Overall length of coat from nape to hem 78cm. Condition II
