Description
The dark hardwood stock with characteristic fluted butt, the wrist chequered. The mounts finely wrought of steel, chiseled in baroque motifs, with massive belthook, and inlaid with gold at the triggerguard. The massive miquelet lock with engraved borders, the barrel with octagonal breech with five maker’s marks struck in gold and inscribed, ANO DE 1841 (Year of 1841) FABRICADO EN FORTUNA (MADE IN FORTUNA — province of Murcia, southwest Spain.) Dated 1841. Minor wear. Overall length 121cm. Condition II
