Description
An earlier example than usually encountered. Finely wrought of actively-patterned wootz steel, the hemispherical bowl with spike finial, captured nasal bar and plume tubes, and embellished with flowering vinework in gold. Retains its camail of ganga jamuni (brass and iron) patterned rings. Early 17th century. As found, worn overall, bowl patched in period, inlay heavily worn, losses to mail. Height 20cm. Condition V
