Of characteristic spiked form, with uncommon bands of geometrical decoration in the interstices.
Maces of this form were popular among the Rus, notably at the Battle of Kalka in 1223. From a private American collection, acquired in 1971. 13th century. As found, with contemporary wood haft. Overall length of head 5.2 cm. Condition V
