Description
The profiled steel guard with incised borders and fine foliate engraving to the interior, with robust knucklebow, the guard with expanded and beaded terminals, the spherical pommel en suite. Wooden grip retains its fine original twisted wire wrap. The long, straight, double-edged blade with deep fuller to either side marked IACOP BRACH 1662 on one side and IN ASCIMINI NOLIT P ECAR to the other, transitioning to a flattened hexagonal cross section all the way to the tip. Dated 1662. Overall length 113cm. Condition II
