Description
The profiled steel guard with incised borders, developing into a robust pierced and profiled knucklebow, the guard with expanded and beaded terminals, the flattened spherical pommel with stepped base. Wooden grip with raveled wire wrap. The long, straight and double-edged blade with short, deep fuller to either side marked, XX NII NITOS XX NNI XX and XX INN X SOLINGIN XX, transitioning to a flattened hexagonal cross section. Latter 17th century. Tip rounded. Overall length 100cm. Condition III
