The long head handwrought with pronounced central ridge, the socket with plaited wirework panel. The wooden haft with original albino crocodile bands intact, the butt with coiled iron counterweight. A common weapon of Mahdist warriors. Second half of the 19th century. Overall wear. Overall length 110cm.
