Description
The grip carved of a single piece of deep green jade, terminating in a fully-modeled horses head, the eyes and bridle executed in fine gold and set with rubies and turquoises. The steel bolster finely inlaid in gold, the single-edged blade of characteristic form, lavishly inlaid at the forte in gold, and forged of actively-patterned Persian black wootz. In its velvet-covered wooden scabbard with heavily gilded and engraved mounts. 19th century. Overall length 39.5cm. Very light rubbing to mounts and velvet. Condition I
